The Silent Revolution of Smart Metering

The digital transformation of water services is turning smart metering from a simple measuring tool into intelligent infrastructure. A practical example is the project implemented by SASI SpA to digitise, monitor and reduce losses across its water distribution network.

The initiative covered 16 municipalities and included 20,000 ultrasonic meters with NB-IoT technology. Pietro Fiorentini’s SSM-AQUO meters provide regular consumption data, while Terranova’s TAMM platform integrates it with the operator’s management, commercial and GIS systems.
